Frequently asked
How is a strategy session different from business coaching?+
Coaching often means accountability and motivation. These are structured diagnostic sessions using the Solo Strategy Canvas — you leave with a specific written plan covering pricing, positioning, tax structure, and growth priorities. Not cheerleading. Strategy.
Can I book a session if I'm outside Toronto?+
Fully. Every session runs over video call. Clients span all ten provinces — from Victoria to St. John's. The Canvas works the same whether you're in a Toronto high-rise or a home office in rural Saskatchewan.
What's the Solo Strategy Canvas?+
A one-page diagnostic framework built specifically for solo founders. It maps seven pressure points — from revenue concentration to tax structure — and produces a written action plan. Developed in-house, refined across 400+ sessions with Canadian solopreneurs.
What does a session cost?+
Sessions start at $350–$500 for early-stage solopreneurs and $500–$1,200 for established operators. Most founders need one session. Some book a 4-session sprint for deeper restructuring. You'll know before we start.
Should I incorporate or stay a sole proprietor?+
Depends on net income. Incorporation typically makes sense around $80K–$100K when tax deferral outweighs $1,500–$3,000/yr in T2 filing costs. We model both scenarios in session so you see the real breakeven.
I have one big client. Is that a PSB risk?+
If incorporated with one client, CRA may flag you as a Personal Services Business — losing the small business deduction. I audit your exposure and build a remediation plan: multiple clients, proper contracts, documented deliverables.
